All
employees of Rutgers University have the benefit of payroll deduction.
Payroll deduction is a quick and easy way to make your annual gift
to Rutgers Athletics. All you have to do is fill out a little paperwork
and your gift will be withdrawn from your paycheck throughout the
year. You'll never forget to make the gift and you don't have to
worry about writing a check or paying credit card fees.
HOW
IT WORKS
Depending on how much you want to give, your gift will
be broken down into small increments. Below is a chart depicting
what you regular deduction would be in a 26-week pay period:
| Amount
Taken out of Each Paycheck |
Total
Annual Contribution to Scarlet R |
| $3.85 |
$100 |
| $11.54 |
$300 |
| $19.24 |
$500 |
| $38.47 |
$1,000 |
| $96.16 |
$2,500 |
| $191.31 |
$5,000 |
| $384.62 |
$10,000 |
If you are not
making your gift at the beginning of the fiscal year, you can still
take part in payroll deduction. The scale will be adjusted in a
manner that would increase your BI-weekly deduction, but your total,
year-end gift would remain the same.
To
apply for payroll deduction, all you will need to do is print, fill
out, and return the Campus
Campaign application, (requires Adobe
Acrobat Reader). As you will see on the form, there are
blanks that will allow you to specify where you want to money to
go, how much you want to give (in total or each period), and when
you would like the deduction to begin. When making a designation,
please note that you can indeed have multiple designations, including
specific athletic programs, non-athletic programs, and specific
accounts - should you know that information ahead of time.
MATCHING GIFTS
While the university does not match gifts, your spouse's employer
may. Please feel free to contact our office to find out how you
can take advantage of such an option and increase your contribution
to Rutgers.
